ROME, FLORENCE AND VENICE

Day 1: Arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport and transfer to your hotel. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner.

DAY 2: Escorted tour of Rome, taking you along the iconic monuments connected to the Eternal City. Start the tour at the Palatine Hill, pass the Arch of Constantine to visit the mighty Colosseum, built in AD 80. After lunch break in a gourmet restaurant, explore Campo de Fiori, one of Rome’s thriving markets. Visit the Piazza Navona, dominated by the Baroque Fountain of the Four Rivers, and continue to the Pantheon, with its large Corinthian columns. Later, enjoy a moment at the Trevi Fountain and finish your day at the picturesque Spanish Steps.

DAY 3: Tour Vatican City, admiring the stunning artworks in its vast museum. An expert guide will help you in your travel through Vatican Museums marstepieces. Behold the Sistine Chapel with its glorious frescoes painted by Michelangelo, and wonder at St. Peter’s Basilica.

DAY 4: Transfer to Florence, roaming through the sun-splashed Tuscan countryside. Along the way, stop at a distinctive winery for a guided tasting of Brunello di Montalcino and a light lunch. Continue to Florence and visit the Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s David.

DAY 5: Transfer to Pisa to discover the Torre of Pisa a unique masterpiece known worldwide and other famous monuments. Late in the afternoon back to Florence for relax or shopping along the Via Tornabuoni where most of the fashion ateliers are located.

DAY 6: Florence escorted tour. Florence is famous for its wealth of fine art and architecture and was long ruled by the Medici family. Monuments and art sites not to be missed are the Uffizi Gallery, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, the Giotto belltower, the St. John’s Baptistery, Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce, just to mention few, but the list can grow longer because each part of Florence and each street contains an art treasure.

DAY 7: On the way to Venice you can stop for a visit of Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet. Verona’s surviving architecture and urban structure reflects the evolution of this fortified town over its 2,000 year history. Or enjoy a Wine Tasting Tour along the wine routes of Valpolicella with its famous Amarone wine on the picturesque hills round Lake Garda. After reach Venice where water taxis will take you to the hotel.

DAY 8: A Venice guided tour going from the Jewish Ghetto — one of the first in the world and the place from which the word “ghetto” actually derives – to Saint Mark Square with the external visit of the famous bell tower and the Basilica, the exterior of the Doge’s palace and then continue to the inner streets of the lagoon town called “Calle”. You will pass externally the famous Teatro La Fenice, continue towards the Scala of Bovolo, to reach one of the icons of the city, “The Rialto Bridge”, which crosses the Grand Canal.
Leisure time in the afternoon, enjoy shopping time at Fondaco Dei Tedeschi, the Venice’s new first luxury department store located at the foot of the Rialto Bridge on the Gran Canal. Don’t miss the visit of its Rooftop Terrace which features an overwhelming view of Venice.
Calle Larga XXII Marzo near St Mark’s Square, is another preferred street by lovers for luxury shopping, boasting the most important boutiques of high couture.

DAY 9: Today you will discover the Venetian’s islands: embark by private launch to the island of Murano, home of Venice’s ancient glassmaking tradition. Once arriving, you will have the chance to visit one of the island’s glassworks and attend a demonstration of a master glassmaker. Following you can walk to the lighthouse or opt for a visit to the iconic sights of Murano, such as the Basilica of Santi Maria and Donato, the Glass Museum and Palazzo da Mula. Next, move to Burano: the colorful houses and their reflection on the green water of the canals, the ladies sitting outside embroidering the traditional lace and the fishermen who unload the fish from their boats, all conjure up to turn Burano into a truly fascinating island. Visit the leaning bell tower, the house of Bepi Suà, the most colorful of the island, and the Lace Museum, which exhibits rare examples of this precious fabrisc worldwide known. Have lunch in a typical restaurant of this area. The last stop of your daily excursion will be Torcello, where the Venetian civilization was born: the first settlements date back to the 7th century when local folks sought refuge on the island to escape the Barbarians’ invasions.

DAY 10: After breakfast, transfer by to the airport and depart.
