Golf Club Venezia
Legend has it that Henry Ford was the leading force behind the creation of a golf course on the Lido in Venice. Many world famous Pro’s have played on this course. Arnold Palmer, who still holds a 5 below par record, Severiano Ballesteros, Tony Jacklin, Lee Trevino to name a few.
The course has many peculiar features. There are cluster pines, weeping willows, poplars and mulberry-trees that make the course green and useable all year round.
The “bora” or “scirocco” winds that pass require sudden changes in game tactics, as well as the other intrinsic difficulties of the course.
All these elements make Venice Golf Club one of the top 10 Italian courses. Part of the experience is the journey to reach the course!
