Golf della Montecchia

///Golf della Montecchia

Between the rolling Euganean Hills and the Veneto plain, Golf della Montecchia is a celebration of technical precision, sustainability, and timeless elegance. Founded in 1988 by a group of visionary entrepreneurs, this 27-hole facility—White, Red, and Green courses—has become a landmark of Italian golf, recognized for its excellence in both sport and environmental stewardship.

Designed by renowned British architect Tom Macauley and reimagined in 2022 by European Golf Design under Jeremy Slessor, the course embodies international prestige. At Montecchia, they’ve preserved the natural character of the land, creating gentle contours that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape while introducing advanced playability.

With over 6,300 meters of play, the par 72 course features challenging water hazards, wild natural areas, and a cutting-edge drainage system that ensures perfect conditions even in rainy weather. The conversion to Bermudagrass enhances year-round performance, while pet-friendly holes and a rich local fauna—thanks to the proximity of the Euganean Hills Park—add unique character to the game.

At the heart of the property lies the Club House, a masterfully restored tobacco-drying barn once belonging to the Emo Capodilista noble family. Overlooking the putting greens and practice areas, it houses a pro shop, lounge, the casual “Montecchia Green” restaurant, and the refined “La Montecchia” gourmet restaurant with panoramic views of the Euganean Hills and Garda Alps. The atmosphere is enhanced by wine culture and history, rooted in the estate’s Renaissance villa and prestigious vineyards.

Golf della Montecchia is deeply committed to sustainability, having pioneered eco-friendly practices in Italian golf. With optimized irrigation, energy-efficient infrastructure, and ecological maintenance programs, the club proudly serves as a green buffer between the park and the city.

Whether you’re walking 18 holes or dining at sunset with the hills in view, Montecchia offers an Italian golfing experience that combines technical mastery, natural beauty, and refined hospitality.
